Both are a good choice. Lely has the most experience, I believe delaval is even build with patents from lely.

The delaval VMS is most defenitely not built using Lely patents. The delaval robot is also far supperior to the Lely, you have to remember you get what you pay for, the lely is cheaper and for good reason it is only half of the machine compared to the VMS.

Hate to break the bad news, but the Delaval robot does use several patents from Lely and Punch. The Right to the VMS were purchased from Silsoe Research centre in the UK back in the early 1990s.
In reality the delaval machines strugle to keep up with the production of the Lely or Fullwood. This is due to Delval attachment process being much slower. Hence they promote 'Feed First' to reducee the number of false visits to the machine. Lely and Fullwood promote free traffic which is much simpler to manage.
My bet is n Fullwood, All stainless steel machine, lowest energy and water consumption, highest attachment speed, best overall production rates. Best Value. €10,000 cheaper than the Lely and €20,000 cheaper than delaval.

Depending on the country they all use eachothers patents. They all work and work well but in the end it all depends who will service and take care of you the best. Each has its own benefits but if you look at what delaval is coming out with in the near future it is pretty neat. Lely will be cheaper but they will soak you with service contracts. Delaval is a bit more but in the end you have a robot that you can upgrade rather than having to buy a new system (a2, a3 and now next)
