I am interested in peoples experience with feeding earlage(snaplage). Is it hard to grow? What starch source do you replace? Is it ecomonically viable?

Earlage is a real cool feed. It is essentially high moisture corn, and it is rocketfuel. I would love to see more people use it, but the issue is what is left on the field. All the stalk is left behind, and trash can become a problem

We have put up earlage for two years now. It is great feed and allows us to feed more home grown energy than just barley. As for the trash left in the field, we custom graze some beef cows for a neighbor.
